GENERAL

1- Govt. notification No. Admin/G-7(6)/2008 dated 04th November, 2008 the President Azad Jammu & Kashmir has been approved the Physical Planning & Housing Sector (Building Department) is declared as Employer and entrusted the leading role for the execution and  implementation of the Reconstruction Projects and also designated as  Reconstruction/ Building. 2- The Allotment of New DHO Complex District Muzaffarabad has been completed” Said Superintending Engineer PWD Building Circle Muzaffarabad during a meeting. 3- The Prime Minister of Govt. of AJ&K appreciated the performance of the Physical Planning & Housing Sector in 3rd Qtr. review meeting of ADP 2007-08 held on 16.04.2008.

            Public Works Department comprises Transport & Communication Sector    and Physical Planning & Housing Sector.

 

TRANSPORT & COMMUNICATION SECTOR

 

1-         Vision

            Provision and upkeep of a viable road network matching in needs of people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

 

2-         Economic/ Social Potential

·         Road entries from AJK to Pakistan are key routes for social & economic activities mainly taking plaice in AJK.

·         Inter/intra district roads support social services delivery.

PHYSICAL PLANNING & HOUSING SECTOR

 

1-         Vision

            Construction and Maintenance of safe & comfortable residential and office accommodation in the Public Sector, in a well designed & cost effective manner to ensure conducive environment for an efficient Public Service deliver.
